Morgan Heritage 20 Year Tribute Mix

Morgan Heritage 20
Celebrating two decades of amazing music from the grammy award winners. Ever since their breakthrough hits for Bobby Digital in 1996 a new single or album release has always been a much anticipated event and when the Heritage roadshow come to town its just pure fyah... Troddin' in their late father Denroy's footsteps Heritage favour an uptempo, rootsy sound and are at their best doing tuff reality songs and inspiring spirituals. The band's grammy this year for the Strictly Roots album was long overdue and is seen as a 'lifetime achievement'' award. Its great to see them finally get the recognition they've so long deserved.

With such an extensive and essential back catalogue to choose from and too little space here, focus is more on singles and collaborations than on album tracks. Productions from, among others, Digital B, Jammys, Xterminator,  Flava Mcgregor, Kickin, Penthouse,  Massive B, Fat Eyes, Richie Stephens, Oneness, Jukeboxx, Don Carleon, Denroy Morgan and Heritage's own 71 Records, HMG and GTBC (Good To Be Conscious). Alternative versions by Cocoa Tea, Chezidek, Sizzla, Shabba Ranks, I-Wayne, Capleton, Anthony B, King Kong, Richie Spice, Beenie Man, Ras Shiloh, Bushman, the Marleys and Military Man.

Satta Man! Roots 1990s

Satta man!

The Satta Massagana riddim, timeless Abyssinians anthem (and one of reggae's most memorable horn lines) features heavily with wicked interpretations by both Bobby Digital (Raggy Road) and Manatee. Memorable cuts from Sizzla, Capleton & Anthony B. The Abyssinians chip in too with a Determine combination and also The Right Satta on their own Clitch label (1993). Early outings for debutants Norris Man, Morgan Heritage and dub poet DYCR. Other riddims include the mighty Conquerer/Moving Outta Babylon (Ffrench), Cherry Oh Baby and a kette drum style beat from Penthouse circa 1995
