Who's Gonna Win The War Now?

Who's Gonna Win The War Now?

A slight change of direction for this one. I've been revisiting some of the other sounds that I've taken in over the years. While reggae was my first love I've always been open to other good forms of expression, just so long as the vibes are right

Folk, folk-rock, stoner rock & psychedelic music and back again... Selections here focus largely on the theme of PERPETUAL WAR and ideals of freedom, will this pestilence that is humanity ever resolve to really pull itself together for the general good? Sadly I very much doubt it.

#Greed #Inequality #Conflict #EnvionmentalCatastrophy #Destruction #ModernDaySlavery

Features Faiport Convention, Dave Swarbrick, Country Joe, Dick Gaughan, The Groundhogs, Hawkwind, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Led Zeppelin, C.S.N.Y, Neil Young, Ben Harper, The Doors, John Lennon, Amy Winehouse, Mannassas, Bob Dylan, Pearl Jam, คาราบาว (Carabao)

Blessed To Be... Modern Day Blues & Spirituals

We step out of the reggae zone for one week only for a foray into modern American blues & gospel sounds. Centers around the inspirational & sensational works of Ben Harper alongside his band the Innocent Criminals as well as with the legendary Blind Boys of Alabama. Also some deeply spiritual songs by the Holmes Brothers. A good few surprises 😋

Its a different flavor this time but Jah Jah works go on sameway seen 💚💛💗

Begins with protest & resistance songs (🔥🔥🔥 Babylon) before moving to a few brutally reflective gideon songs. A series of joyous, uplifting spirituals is then followed by some more soul-searching before coming to a optimistic & contented conclusion...

We are blessed to be.. more thanks for life!

I've not done a tracklist for this one (enjoy the suspense hehe) but I'll list one below later on..

If been a real pleasure to revisit some of these old favorites of mine. The live session was a surprising success. Far from no one tuning in as I'd suspected might happen it was rocking this Friday night on hearticalfm.com as everyone really appreciated a break from the usual reggae jeggae..

Well pleased & satisfied :)

Struggle Inna Babylon Mixtape 2017

Struggle Inna Babylon 2017

Conscious selection of mostly fresh roots tunes from Yard & broad. Chanting down Babylon, battering down oppression...

Riddim like the mighty Warrior Charge (Necessary Mayhem/Dureco) and Addis Pablo's In My Father's House (Jahsolidrock). Also revisiting two great Overstand productions with more deadly cuts on the Maad Sick Reggaeville and Retro Locks (Golden Locks). Showcasing some crucial tracks from the latest Jah9 and Kabaka mixtapes. The excellent Energy taken from Runkus' debut album has a real Ijahman style vibe. Jungle is the new single by emerging roots reggae group Dub Division outta Hamburg. Alto Grado (high grade) is the lead single from Dactah Chango's Ansestral LP and one for the herbalists. Toke's Frizzle rides a flying-cymbals style rhythm track and is taken off his Wake Up In Kingston LP while Judge is the title track of Amlak Redsquare's uncompromisingly tuff new album. Rass Motivated follows on from his excellent Who Am I lp from 2013 with a new single Point Of You from his antipated upcoming 2nd set
