Year 2 Year 12'' Discomix Collection 1992

Year-2-Year 12'' Discomix Collection 1992. The fifteenth year of this series sees the further divergence of the different strands within the music, creating two individual and separately recognizable genres; ragga (dancehall/bogle/bashment, etc) & reggae, with nuff fusion between... All styles are well represented here. Top ranking productions from Jah Screw, Junior Reid, Phillip Burrell, Steely & Clevie, Adrien Genius, Rooftop, Joe frazier, Taxi, Madhouse, Colin Fat and Sting International. While no longer predominant, Music Works still contribute while Junjo Lawes steps back into the arena with hits tunes from Cocoa Tea and Ninjaman.

CD1: Hot reggae-dancehall riddim like Real Rock, Nanny Goat, General, Vanity, Drum Song, Bogle and the sensational Bam Bam. Ninjaman chats reality to brilliant effect for JR on Ting-A-Ling-A-Ling and Consideration. Bonus riddim excursions on the Bam Bam/Santa Barbara from Taxi, Rooftop & Frazier.

CD2: Kicks off in Bogle fashion with Ninja's Bogle, Bogle Dance, Little Giggy, Big Up and reggae-dancehall from Music Works. The tempo then cool a little for Sting Int's smash Oh Carolina and related riddim, and some lovers rock. Xtra mixes on the Big Up, Coming In from the Cold and Bogle Dance riddims, including hard versions by Buju and Shabba's contemptuous answer to Ninja's Ting-A-ling... Wicked!

Continuous mix. 213 minutes. Relist...
