Roots-Dancehall Selections Volume 2 (1978-84)
Don Carlos & Idren
RastFM #LoveReggaeMusic Show 19
21/10/2017
More classic roots and roots-dancehall hit tunes and rarities in a 12'' discomix style with deejay cuts and dub versions. Roots Radics predominant with nuff Junjo Lawes, Sly & Robbie and Prince Jammy productions amongst others. The start of the 1980s was an exceptionally good, creative period for reggae music. The move towards a more dancehall-friendly (and less militant) sound began late in the 70s and borrowed heavily from the traditions and rhythms of rocksteady of over a decade earlier.
Continuous mix. Total 157 minutes. Repost..

I've added a few 12'' rips to the rar files by Lion Youth, the Mighty Diamonds, Jah Thomas & Gregory Isaacs from 1981-82.
Thank-you so much for all your mixes, so carefully curated - no-one else does as good a job. Maximum respect.
